I read a book "Atlantis", was it wrote Otto Munck or something, he has
collected a quite huge puzzle of manykinds of 'scientific' facts and he
says that Arlantis existed at Atlantic Ocean, and was destroyed by an
asteroid impactr.
He says that meteor blew up in atmosphere, and lots of minor parts came
down into area of Florida, where there are lots of craters in a small
ellipsoid area. He also connects death of mammoths in Siberia to a
massive flood caused by this incident, as those mammoths died very
quickly. Also ancient trees that grew there went by that flood to China,
where their remnants can be seen, as well of that huge layer of very
rich soil, where they novadays grow up rice.
Also, Greenland was a 'green land' ages ago (as there are fossils
found), because there was no Golf Stream, as Atlantis directed flow of
tropical waters up north, between Greenland and Iceland to a modern
North Pole, what didn't have it's icecap in those days.
And at the bottom of Atlantic Ocean, there's that rigde that has been
between plates of Africa and South America, but in upwards, between
Europe and North America, that 'seam' has a big 'hole', in the areas
nearby Bermuda Islands.
He too found another anomaly considering east cost of North America:
Rivers continue their stream the bottom of the sea, and because of
erosion their 'tracks' can be found from some distance from the shores.
But in the area between Florida and Nova Scotia, these 'continental
trails' are suddenly and sharply cut - like part of continental plate
"has been removed".
This guy says, that Atlantis vanished because af that asteroid hit it,
and with such a power, that it went thru earth's surface, that's why
there are no craters witnessing that event.
Well, I don't know what's true what ain't, but as in ancient myths of
mesoamerican natives there are stories that talks about "men and gods
from land from west", and simultanous rise of written language,
astronomy/logy, mathematics etc. at mesoamericas and far east... well I
think it existed at Atlantis, and it's destroy was more than 11 000
years ago. There a lots of connections from variety of ancient myth and
legends and 'geological data' to
give vote to that timeline.
Perhaps we have some new information soon, as this "Sleeping Prophet",
psychic Edgar Cayce has prophesied that about in these ages there'll be
found huge archives of atlantean writings & other stuff from Giza,
Egypt, starting underneath of Sphinx. There has been excavations below
the Sphinx, and there's been found chambers and tunnels, but government
of Egypt has stopped these studies, they don't even allow a ground radar
used from the surface to search any underground complexes... perhaps
their egos don't like the idea that the so far written history is crap,
and they were not "mighty ancient civilisation", but merely like a
library keepers of someone else...
I think these wild scenarios from our past beats a lot of lousier
scifibooks =)
