When you earn your living by using a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
If everything looked like a pipe, they'd fire you and hire a plumber.

I was doing some teaching type stuff in 1986 and some of
the papers I got from students were absolute font chaos.
This one babe with a Mac was the absolute worst.

OTOH when I was a kid I had this printing press (yes a
real, live printing press !) and I also had this book
called "The Practice of Printing". Ya know what ? It
teaches basic style for printed matter, and it perfectly
relevant now, too. Basic style and ability to deliver
information doesn't change. What changes is the degree
of suffering that "designers" put us all thru. And the
Internet gave them lots of weaponry.
