Lots of Jesus-symbolism attached to a creature that resembles more a daemon from the Apocalypse than any creature Our Lord has created. E.T. is an evil attempt to lure us all to the Dark Side. Sure, E.T. is nice and gentle - in the beginning - and shows you supernatural things, like levitation. Exactly like Satan.
