I traded a few emails with a guy who does a show on WFMU.
He actually lives in Alabama (which is WAY far away from New Jersey),
where he finds CD's. every week he records a show on CD-R and snail
-mails it to the station.
how's that for an odd mix of communications technologies ?

I live in Alabama (!) and send my show in on CD-R. Then I listen to it
in real time over the internet with all the other knuckleheads. I wish
I did the show "live" and could hang out with all the WFMU folk, but alas.
Hey, since Finland just kicked Russia's ass maybe you guys should take
advantage and make them give back all that land they took from you guys
in 1940. Hell yeah!

I lived in NYC 1990-95, 97. I produce the whole show in AL on my computer.
I also have a local weekly one hour vintage gospel show on a true blue X-tian
station here in Montgomery. WMGY 800 AM: Southern Alabama's Voice of the Gospel!
They play "Southern Gospel" -- that means white -- 24-7 except on Saturdays.
Then they turn it over to local paid programming. That's when it gets good.
Any preacher, lay person, or church can buy 15 minutes to one hour of time
and just RANT about Jesus. I've been a huge fan of this type of thing for a
long time and I finally just went down to this station to hang out and meet
these beautiful crazy people and before I new it I had a show of my own. I
get called Brother Kevin alot. (Little do they know of my free thinking,
anarcho, etc. proclivities...)
> do you find your sinners' records just around places ?
The usual spots: auctions, record fairs, etc. A lot of cool records
I found through my local show.
