Verified the reconnect fix in #74416 against `apache-airflow-providers-smtp==3.1.1rc1` installed from PyPI on Python 3.11.16 in an isolated Breeze container. The imported SMTP hook was confirmed to come from the installed RC package, not the source checkout. - Reusing the same synchronous and asynchronous hook across two context-manager entries successfully sent both emails. - Calling the same notifier twice successfully reused its cached hook with a fresh SMTP client. - Client state was cleared even when synchronous `close()` or asynchronous `quit()` raised; the cleanup errors still propagated. - Local Mailpit captured all six expected messages. SMTP provider 3.1.0 reproduced the second-send failures as a negative control. The RC tag contains the merged fix and its changelog entry.
