Both parts identified in this issue have now been implemented and merged: - #4283 — namespace properties support and namespace-location inheritance, merged as `da51a2d582deedab65b36c9c831e3a3f566caab0`. - #4284 — staged table creation for the REST catalog, merged as `38b2b49e72676cc5623264ce6f5d0dd94d3e414c`. All required checks for #4284 passed on its final head, including Hadoop 2 / JDK 11, Hadoop 3 with JDK 11 (Spark 3.3/3.4/3.5), Hadoop 3 with JDK 17 / Spark 3.5, and Trino CI. One unrelated intermittent optimizer-test failure observed during the first Hadoop 3 run is tracked separately in #4303; the complete rerun passed all four Hadoop 3 matrix jobs and did not reproduce it. The namespace-property and staged-create compatibility problems described here are therefore complete. Could a maintainer please close this issue when convenient?
