   @ElliottBrossard we fixed the JIRA mentioned above 
([link](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEAM-4706)). FWIW, we run the 
test successfully on Dataflow and direct runners (see the comment in the JIRA 
issue) after your change was merged.
