Philip Thompson commented on CASSANDRA-9269:
--------------------------------------------
Commitlogs don't get flushed, memtables do.
> Huge commitlog not flushed.

> Key: CASSANDRA-9269
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-9269
> Project: Cassandra
> Issue Type: Bug
> Environment: ubuntu
> cassandra-2.1.3

> I wrote at once a lot of data in several column families of keyspaceName on a
> single node cluster. I only read from this keyspace afterward. My issue is
> that size of commitlog is huge and does not shrink:
> $ du -sh data/*
> 7.8G data/commitlog
> 7.0G data/data
> 36M data/saved_caches
> When I try to flush using nodetool, if i run "./bin/nodetool flush" no error
> occurs and no change happens in size of commit log. even when I specify
> keyspaceName no change happens.
> Also Fot further information, the following is description of my keyspace
> schema,
> {code}
> cqlsh> describe keyspace keyspaceName;
