Brandon Williams commented on CASSANDRA-9896:
---------------------------------------------
Here's a comparison of 1ms with 64 concurrent writes, 2.0.15, and a patch given
to me by a third party that removes the sleep, with a smaller size (1k vs 64k):
http://cstar.datastax.com/graph?stats=761a933c-3498-11e5-b142-42010af0688f&metric=op_rate&operation=1_write&smoothing=1&show_aggregates=true&xmin=0&xmax=34.32&ymin=0&ymax=630.3
That patch performs significantly better, so I'm less certain that disabling
the commitlog recycling is the best solution, but obviously helps. You can see
the patch [here|https://github.com/driftx/cassandra/tree/nosleep]

> See CASSANDRA-9533 for background, specifically the graphs I linked.
> Benedict suggests this is due the commitlog recycling and I agree, so the
> simplest solution is to be able to disable that.
