Took a while, but cassci dtests are now finally happy enough. Committed as
[96d41f0e0e44d9b3114a5d80dedf12053d36a76b|https://github.com/apache/cassandra/commit/96d41f0e0e44d9b3114a5d80dedf12053d36a76b]
to cassandra-3.0 and merged into trunk.
Will create the follow-up JIRA tickets soon-ish.
