Thanks for looking into this so quickly. I agree on the first 3 bullet points
and I will address them tomorrow.
As for extending AtomicReference from MonitorableImpl, I think it would look
really odd and not very clean to have ReadCommand be an AtomicReference. I
think we would be abusing the "is a" principle a bit too much.
Do let me know if you have more comments and I will try to address them all
together.
