Ok, but I guess we would still break potential clients that read the system
table directly. Even without that, the upgrade mechanism is still a tiny bit
risky. So that I'm wonder if it's wise to do that before 4.0. That is, we
should fix it eventually, but in practice it's kind of a non-issue so we should
keep that for a major.
