Tried with token and weirdly some files work and some don't (text files seem to 
work, binaries in general don't).... this is one of them...  I am not sure what 
conditions control this

I am ok with this, I can revert and I think we can special case allow in 
.gitignore.  If people are ok moving in-tree for now I can update the patch to 
do that.
