Latest iteration of this patch look great in my case, but please note again, I
have not tested mmap.
Maybe you can make the "full GC" trigger conditional if mmap is used?
Only thing missing beyond that is to get this into 0.8.
Disk use is very significantly improved in some cases and I think this could
easily be the biggest improvement you can do in 0.8.2 in terms of operation
friendliness.
Regarding the above mentioned tmp tables, there is definitely issues there, but
don't think it is related to this patch so feel free to merge.
