That's an interesting idea!

We probably at least need to identify the nodes somehow - perhaps host_id.
bq. 2) we should limit the size of log entries so this does not grow into
infinity
This is a tricky problem, because limiting size isn't really a knob we have,
how long to retain each entry via TTL.
