I reran the jvm dtests that timed out

just to be certain, and they passed. Everything looks good to me, +1.
bq. remove older serialization binary files we're no longer use in tests…
Can confirm that the 0.7 files are no longer needed :) Also thank you for the
checkpoint commits, that made reviewing smoother.
