Should the InterceptClasses#BYTECODE_VERSION = Opcodes.ASM7 but updated also,
or am I missing something here too?

It should when we update the simulator to support JDK17.

I suggest we leave this one the patch as-is and have the simulator upgraded to
be able to handle 17 in its own separate ticket. Same way it was done in
additional ticket for simulator Java 11 support before.{code}
