In Cassandra client applications, enabling frame compression is the recommended production practice to minimize the wire bandwidth. Currently, cassandra-easy-stress leaves native protocol compression un-configured on the datastax java driver thus, causing client traffic to default to uncompressed frames. This causes artificial CPU overhead and prevents benchmarks from reflecting production workloads. This ticket plans to default native protocol frame compression to lz4 in easy-cassandra-stress and add a `--protocol-compression` CLI parameter to allow users to opt-out by specifying none. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
