Would it be simpler to have a jvm language be the cqlsh language since they
already have to have java installed?
Tarball is what people will be downloading on windows and mac osx, which I
think make up the majority of those trying out Cassandra. I think it should
work out of the box with the tarball, regardless of package dependencies on
linux. A side effect of switching to cqlsh should not be to make the install
and bootstrap process more complicated. In that sense I agree with Nick.
