FTR I think everything looks kosher. I'll file a new ticket for the potential
"behaving best we can" changes, which would basically amount to reducing the
amount of garbage we generate. Since Netty is now pooling all of its internal
buffers, we should probably do the same. It's probably not much work, but best
to keep it independent of this. Might still be good to include in 2.1 though.
