Not very close to UDF support. I think of a UDF as something that would be
modiying data between the storage engine and the result set inside a select The
goal is to be able to atomically manipulate columns server side without knowing
their current value. It is like CAS - C + F. FAS function and swap.
I should do myself a favour and read the UDF tickets.
