libfiu might be a useful library for simulating system failures. We should look
into using this within cassandra-dtest or independently. Ideally we'll want
some control over how specific test nodes should behave ("node A should fail as
if problem X has occurred"), so we'll want to look into somehow conditionally
failing calls for specific nodes and perhaps intermittent probabilistic
failures too.
