rhtyd commented on issue #2540: problem adding new shared network NIC to VM "A NIC with this MAC address exits for network:" URL: https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/issues/2540#issuecomment-389209821 @GabrielBrascher I think the ideal fix would be to ensure that mac address is uniquely created considering a zoneid, network id, nic/slot id and mgmt server id, and perhaps other parameters. Fixing the logic that creates unique mac address should fix the issue of mac address conflict. The issue happens whenever nic2/slot2 is plugged on the same shared network for different VMs.
