Here should be a good starting point for the ticket. I'm not sure if the change in activateDaffodilDebug is necessary. When setting the schema path to empty in my launch config, I was getting the ERRCONN popup immediately, before the debugger was even being launched. I tried tracking down where this was coming from, but didn't quite find it. All that I really found out was that it was happening before any of the code that I modified - maybe something internal in VSCode?
