Any thoughts on this? Agreed. I think the web console should provide safe defaults. Like with Druid it's always better to use an environment variable to provide the credentials instead of in clear text. If the console could default to environment variables and allow the user to switch to clear text (if they so choose) I think that's reasonable. A warning message for an insecure method like this is also great!
