This changed a lot since your last review, so here's the summary: - Rebased onto `main` without #13495's commits, so this PR stands alone and only touches core test lanes. - Cut to the core changes: the design doc, the Python identity tool, its CI job, `coreTestLaneOf`, the annotation self-test and Gradle lines that restated defaults are gone (+727 across 13 files). - `CoreBackend` documents that the lane, not the class, decides whether Docker is needed (h2 never does). - The description covers the CI check names and the testcase rename; the merge order is on #13515. All four inline threads are answered and resolved.
