This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage and is being closed as stale. It carries a three-item cleanup list from the 2020 review of PR #1804 - "code reuse in the input format classes", "code reuse in the tests", "AppendHandle should also use sorting by Spark" - with no class named and no target shape, so there is no state anyone can verify as done. The linked merged PR #1804 is `[HUDI-960]`, the PR this ticket was raised from, not a fix for it. The parent epic HUDI-1292 is already closed, and the JIRA has not moved since 2023-03-10.
