@wmedvede About the Span relationship, each span has its parent span, it's a parent-child relationship that allow the user, in the end, to have the execution path; to know which span was executed first and last, I do not see it as "inside" but more of "chained", maybe I am wrong here. I guess we would remove the parent span relationship to flatten that, is that what you mean? As for the filtering, I am not sure I am following: for each node "internal" we should look into the "state" metadata and merge the meatadata and attribute inside the current span is the current and previous "state" values are the same?
