[~tkurc] I pushed up a branch so we can work together on this. The branch has
all of my work that you started reviewing, plus a couple of the changes you
pointed out like recording the sending hostname, and fixing the wording of the
two properties in AbstractSyslogProcessor. Feel free to modify the channel
related code based on your above ideas.
