Joseph Witt commented on NIFI-1461:
-----------------------------------

Tony mentioned off-list to me that this approach may break current users of the
RPM. It wasn't a comment meant as a blocker just a food for thought item. My
own feeling is that the RPM as-is is a work in progress and totally eligible
for improvement by folks that are interested. Given that Puspendu and James
and Andre have weighed in and contributed here I am inclined to accept and
merge as-is. Anyone feel differently?

> RPM should create nifi user and give it access to the /opt/nifi and
> subdirectories

> currently when installing from RPM the resulting permissions result on admins
> having to complete the installation by adding a user and correcting
> filesystem permissions.
> Ideally the RPM packages should result in installed files ready to be
> utilised as a non-root user
