Mark Bean commented on NIFI-1118:
---------------------------------
[~joewitt] What is the future of the Remove Trailing Newlines property?
[~markap14] did a good job of fixing it up. However, I feel there is little
value in the property especially as no one has come up with a specific use
case. Are you still in agreement the property should be removed eventually? If
it is to be removed, which version should that be done in, 0.7 or 1.0? If not
until 1.0, then we will have to re-look at the already completed changes (size
limit and header marker) and evaluate the work required to add RTN
functionality back in for 0.7 - or if that is a worthwhile effort.

> Include the following functionality to the SplitText processor:
> 1) Maximum size limit of the split file(s)
> A new split file will be created if the next line to be added to the current
> split file exceeds a user-defined maximum file size
> 2) Header line marker
> User-defined character(s) can be used to identify the header line(s) of the
> data file rather than a predetermined number of lines
> These changes are additions, not a replacement of any property or behavior.
> In the case of header line marker, the existing property "Header Line Count"
> must be zero for the new property and behavior to be used.
