Wonder how we could prevent this from recurring? I have a hunch it will happen again Next Holiday Season. Maybe I could provide some "Cultural Context" over this issue, though I don't work directly with any devs in Asia... (1) Lunar New Year is a highly stressful period. Our devs need to finish the work early and travel home safely, due to the huge rush in cars / trains / planes. How soon is the rush? Lunar New Year is officially 17 Feb this year, but many folks are already rushing home now (8 Feb). (According to the YouTube videos) (2) Why would devs close their PRs right now, without merging them? Well it's their prerogative to close the PRs now, instead of leaving dangling and subjected to PR Reviews over the holidays, during which most devs are offline. (3) Why are our devs so stressed about Merging PRs right now? It's possible that they're hitting some "KPI Incentive" for merging the PRs across NuttX and many other open-source projects? And everyone would tend to react badly under extreme pressure. (4) Google Search did not say specifically that Thumbs-Down Emoji is offensive for PR Reviews. I get the feeling that our devs are working in a Corporate Environment that finds the Thumbs-Down Emoji extremely disagreeable. So it might be good to be culturally-sensitive to these devs, because we value their contribution. (5) Personally I don't use the Thumbs-Down Emoji in PR Reviews because it's kinda passive-aggressive. Instead I use 👀 when I'm feeling passive-aggressive ;-) -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
