Thank you for the feedback. Yes, we're open to expanding this PR to the expected new-family quality bar, including the RT118x register definitions and a complete clock driver. The hardware target has been retargeted from the EVK to the FRDM-IMXRT1186 (MIMXRT1186, 196 BGA), and we'll keep the hardware-tested `nsh>` path working as the clock support is expanded. Pointers to the examples you had in mind would be very helpful, especially for the preferred scope and structure of the RT118x CCM/PLL definitions and clock driver.
