Update: pings are now off by default for this release (`pinot.broker.failure.detector.enable.ping.on.timeout=false`). With pings on by default, upgraded brokers ping old servers during the rolling upgrade. An old server answers a ping only after its queued queries run, so a busy one can miss the 5 s timeout and be taken out of routing. Off for one release avoids this. The plan is to turn pings on by default in the next release. To use pings now, upgrade every server first, then set the flag to `true` on the brokers.
