Review Comment:
Fixed in 249e39d326: detachedCopy() no longer declares checked exceptions,
and the server caller returns it directly without the obsolete catch/import.
The focused detached-metadata test passed; affected formatting, style, license,
and reactor compilation checks passed. The fix is on the PR head.
