Suneel Marthi commented on PIRK-4:
----------------------------------

I have strong opinions on this, its not really worthwhile to support Storm (and
every Streaming and Batch framework out there). I have been looking at Beam
(which is unified Batch and Streaming) and is an abstraction over Flink and
Spark (and Storm, Apex and others will be adding respective runners for Beam).

The roadmap also has support for Heron which is Twitter's enhancement of Storm.
It absolutely would not make sense to have support for both then. Existing
Storm topologies can be supported to run on Heron or Flink or Gearpump
(incubating). So it doesn't make sense supporting every streaming engine
that's out there.

My 2รง.
