The [schema-repo|https://github.com/schema-repo/schema-repo] project is
basically the latest patch in AVRO-1124, with a bit of clean up, bug fixes and
improvements added. It has been published to [Maven
Central|https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/releases/org/schemarepo/]
for easier dependency, though it may need a new release as there is a fair bit
of unreleased updates in the current master, like a new [strongly-typed
API|https://github.com/schema-repo/schema-repo/blob/master/api/src/main/java/org/schemarepo/api/TypedSchemaRepository.java]
for easier use of Avro.
There is also a [mailing
list|https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/schema-repo] for the schema-repo
if you have specific questions about it...
