Thanks, and the maintainer note about rebasing onto the latest `dev` / EXTENSION flow matches my read as well. Since there is still no new commit after Daniel's latest full pass on this PR, I am keeping this as reply-only for now rather than doing another full review on the same revision. Once you push the rebase / validation update, I will re-review the latest head.
