Thanks for turning this into STIP #11364. That is the right next step for this feature. Let's keep the contract discussion in #11364 and use this issue as the feature-tracking umbrella. Please hold implementation PRs until the STIP settles the model location, the required-vs-best-effort field boundary, and the API exposure shape.
