Thanks @HighandLight for raising this cleanup idea. It is reasonable to question whether this API is still needed. After rechecking the current `dev` branch, `SourceSplitEnumerator.currentUnassignedSplitSize()` is still part of the public source API and is implemented by many enumerators. Removing it would need a broader API/lifecycle design discussion rather than continuing this stale standalone PR. I'm closing this PR for now to keep the queue clear. If we decide to redesign source enumerator reporting later, a fresh proposal or PR against the latest `dev` branch would be welcome. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
