   Additional current-dev reproduction evidence is now available.

   Tested upstream dev commit: dbead9b01fc42ddc5a7f8699311ebf52dbb5d937

   During a five-minute FakeSource-to-Console capacity stage,
IntermediateQueueSize produced one negative sample while the job remained
RUNNING:

       2026-07-21T14:39:03+08:00
       IntermediateQueueSize=-1
       SourceReceivedCount=2311486
       SinkWriteCount=2311488
       SourceReceivedQPS=24325.853876366633
       checkpoints=3 completed / 0 failed

   Surrounding queue samples were:

       0, 0, 0, -1, 0, 1, 1

   The stage completed successfully with nine completed and zero failed
checkpoints. No Worker loss, pending job, slot leak, or throughput failure
accompanied the sample.

   This confirms that a negative queue value is still observable on the current
upstream dev commit, beyond the change merged in #10800. PR #11498 produced
zero negative samples in the targeted 24-hour validation.
