Confirmed at unchanged head871c6448a8d1: the shared guard is applied at ConfigBuilder's REST Map conversion, ConfigShadeUtils and ReadonlyConfig.toConfig(). I added a scope note to the description: ConfigAdapter/file loading, MetadataProviderManager and AssertSink retain the existing dev behavior; extending these separate input paths requires a separate reproduction. The current EN/ZH REST docs say that only keys rejected by the path parser become literal keys, while parsable keys retain quote removal/whitespace trimming and `->` nesting. RestUtilTest covers the quote/backslash round trip (`buildConfigShouldPreserveEscapedAndReservedKeysThroughConfigShade`), a top-level invalid key (`buildConfigShouldPreserveTopLevelInvalidPathKey`), and valid path expressions (`buildConfigShouldKeepValidPathExpressions`). ConfigBuilderTest covers padded keys. The embedded HOCON REST/decrypt cases are also retained. No source or test change was needed for these questions.
