Dmitry Kandalov commented on WICKET-1259:
-----------------------------------------
Thanks.
I realise that archetype-snapshot is not a wicket snapshot, but anyway from
user's point of view it's a bit strange that I can download wicket-snapshot (I
mean from wicketstuff repository), but to create quickstart project which uses
wicket-snapshot you have to build wicket from svn (according to quickstart
page).
It's not that I have problems with that (I create quickstart for 1.3.0 version
and then change pom to use wicket-snapshot), it's just that I think it might be
a bit confusing for other people.
> quickstart guide doesn't work for snapshots

> I'm creating wicket quickstart from archetype and use command from
> http://wicket.apache.org/quickstart.html. If I choose version 1.3.0-snapshot,
> it fails saying "Embedded error: Archetype does not exist." Though maven
> command works if I choose other versions.
> There was such a problem before 1.3.0 release.
