@slachiewicz i dont think we should be requiring in the spec that the client
provide the path to the data files, my assumption is that the path to the table
alone should allow us to derive the location of the data files once we open
that formats metadata.
We should keep this field optional, and for now likely modify the code to do
the fallback.
