Avro is just another dependency. Until it starts generating rpms, I suggest
that we just include all of the dependencies in the rpm for
hadoop-common.noarch.
We also need to separate the client from the server rpms, since it would be
really nice to be able to install the client code with out root, but the
server-side rpms require root. (To install the setuid task controller...)
