For what it's worth, we wanted to donate the hard-hat logo to Apache from the
start (for the hadoop job tracker itself). The hive logo I did got picked up
(which made me happy).
We have this logo collecting dust. It was in our product for a short period of
time but I don't think we ever shipped it to anyone (the timeline is a little
fuzzy in my memory). Regardless, I would think that there's no confusion
between this and our product.
If it's not a good fit for the "powered by" needs that's cool. Either way, we
have no way of using it (per Doug's comment regarding trademark). I'd love to
see it find a home; he's pretty darn cute in that hat.
