Anu Engineer commented on HADOOP-12756:
---------------------------------------
bq. our fellow committers are good actors and behaving with the best interests
of the project in mind
Absolutely, that is why we try to get the backs of each other, just like you
would comment on a code review error -- that is trying to help each other -- A
mistake pointed out by the fellow community member is indeed an appreciation of
what you have contributed.
I think Arpit's original comments was pointing out a mistake -- And I think we
all owe him a bit of gratitude.
bq. Ultimately, we need to trust the other people we work with in the community
since no one can personally review every change that goes in.
Again completely agree, that is why we have a community and hopefully someone
else is there to catch the ball when you miss. In fact, in this particular case
it is the expression of trust when someone suggests that an error might have
occurred instead of a -1 veto. The very fact that this is being discussed in
the corresponding JIRA without a -1, is indeed an expression of respect and
trust. In fact, I would think these threads have been really appreciate of the
work and a very gentle reminder of why we do things the way we do.

> Aliyun OSS is widely used among China’s cloud users, but currently it is not
> easy to access data laid on OSS storage from user’s Hadoop/Spark application,
> because of no original support for OSS in Hadoop.
> This work aims to integrate Aliyun OSS with Hadoop. By simple configuration,
> Spark/Hadoop applications can read/write data from OSS without any code
> change. Narrowing the gap between user’s APP and data storage, like what have
> been done for S3 in Hadoop
