Re: shading, I should have spelled this out, but my thinking was to shade 4.1
but still provide 4.0 on the classpath. This would preserve compatibility for
downstream users using 4.0 implicitly, but also let users safely exclude
Hadoop's netty and use their own version. IANA shading expert, so hopefully
that makes sense.
Anyway, fingers crossed that none of that is necessary. I'll keep on with my
"revert to netty 4.0" patch.
