Chris Nauroth commented on HADOOP-9117:
---------------------------------------
One additional note: Nicholas is seeing this problem in Eclipse, not command
line. mvn command line builds are working fine. I don't use Eclipse, so I
didn't catch this during our code review.
Some really quick research turned up this documentation:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/M2E_plugin_execution_not_covered
This seems to indicate that we need additional configuration in the pom.xml for
Eclipse compatibility. Alejandro, we're wondering if you have any other
thoughts on a fix. If not, then I suggest we file a follow-up jira to address
Eclipse compatibility.

> The protoc compiler is currently invoked using ant plugin exec. There is a
> bug in the ant plugin exec task which does not consume the STDOUT or STDERR
> appropriately making the build to stop sometimes (you need to press enter to
> continue).
