Hi [~lmccay] - to be clear, I like the double dash style, too - but I have to 
agree with others that being consistent with other existing tools trumps that.  
The single dash might be slightly archaic, but it's better than different 
argument schemes for different tools.  This ecosystem is complicated enough 
without that. :-)

I would imagine that the change would be to simply lop off one dash.  As for 
the arg parsing, it's not _bad_ as is, but if there is a package that was built 
to handle command line args we should at least have a look at it.
